I also think this is very cool because it feels like we are seeing Türk history in the making! As Turkish nationals, do you think its long overdue that the national currency of Turkiye only now has its own symbol, when the republic has been established since the founding by Ata Türk? Though maybe there were reasons one was never made until now?

I don´t think there is a specific reason behind it wasnt made until now. It is just the matter of giving more respect and value to Turkish Lira.
