Merhaba!

I´ve found such an example on a Turkish learning website:

Kızın yiyecek hiçbir şeyi yok.

And it was translate as "The girl doesn´t have anything to eat".

And now I wonder what is the difference in meaning if I say:

Kızın yenecek hiçbir şeyi yok.

This time I used passive, but still the thing is being eaten

May these both be used interchangeably?

yiyebileceği=yiyeceği=yenecek=yiyecek

"yiyecek" must be the deformed version of "yiyeceği". but we usually use "yiyecek".

we don´t use "yenecek" too much.

This makes me think those:

1) You want to eat the girl. But there is nothing to eat.

İnteresting

2) You want to eat girl´s foods. But there is nothing.

So if you use passive here adjective verb becomes related to you(or others), but if you don´t use passive it becomes related to girl.

Another example that might help ;

Gidecek yeri yok ---> [He,She,It] has nowhere to go.

Gidebileceği hiçbir yer yok ---> There is no place that He [She,It] can go.

Passive use ;

Gidilebilecek bir yer yok ---> There is no place that can be visited [gone]. --> In other words, there is no place that is worth to visit.[go]
