It seems that you can create a relaxed colloquial tone just by adding bi in unexpectable places.

Obviously, personal tastes in one´s choice of pleasures and colors need not be intimately discussed nor severely criticized.

Personal choices in both categories however, can be refined.

It is a swearing. We sometimes use swearings to express our amazement, displeasure, happiness and other feelings. It is like saying "oh fuck it"

"bi" menas "bir" here. sometimes people drop the r sound in informal speech.

bi kere: bir kere (one time)

bitanem: bir tanem

bi dakka: bir dakika (one minute)

bi elma versene (give me an apple)

The problem is not that -r is dropped from bir. The problem is that I often can´t see any reason for bir in the places where bi stands.

"şu beş kiloyu da...: this five kilos (of fat)" woman said. because of "-de (da)" we understood that she lost more weight and this 5 kilos are the last part. for example she should lost 15 kilos in a period of time, lost 10, 5 remaining.

"bir beş kilo kaldı...": (you have done everything, only) a five kilos left. you are at the end of process, only one step left. that why "bi (bir)" meaning "a/an, one, only" used here. actually "bi" sometimes exphasizes making fun of someone.

Look at that, I missed completely that the woman had lost weight already…

It seems like bi(r) changes the remaining five kilos into one package. Like it was

bir [5 kilo]

A complicated meaning made into one noun sounds more simple, easier to handle maybe.

What is more difficult to understand is the use of bi(r) in front of verbs:

…onu da bi versen… 

I often see it with bakmak:

Bir bakalım…

Halime bir bak.

Maybe it is basically the same kind of packaging. Making it look like a piece of cake. Even in English they often say “Let’s take a look” istead of “Let’s look at it”.
