I have been trying to find an earlier thread concerning this, but i think these former forums are not quite alike my question.

"Benim az saattim var ona göre".. one of my friends told me, that this means "I don´t have so much time, just so you know" 

But nonetheless this "just so you know" is not really what i get from my dictionary.. I got something with "accordingly". Is it possible that someone could explain to me perhaps just some of the difference usages of these two words? Thank you very much !

For me ona göre has meaning like - according to it / him her

Your friend used daily Turkish In that sentence "ona göre" s/he meant " I dont have much time, dont forget it or be know that"

Literally:

x´e göre = as it looks to x, how it looks to x

bana göre ... = it looks to me that ... (in my opinion, according to me, etc.)

In this context, ´´ona göre´´ can be understood and translated as ´just to let you know´, ´´you should know this´, or ´ just for the record´. This is a Turkish way of saying it as the above commentators expressed in their lanes.

 Another way of looking at it:

this  could be the answer to a question like "why aren´t you coming out for a drink tonight?" and the ona göre here equates to "because" or "that´s why".

1. ona göre can be: according to him/her, in his/her opinion if the "o" refers to a person

2. ona göre can mean: that is how it is

3. ona göre can means: according to that thing, that´s why, because if the "o" refers to a reason.

ona göre:

firstly we use this expression to express someone´s opinion:

for example:

Ona göre Mary dünyanın en güzel kızıydı:

in his opinion Mary is the most beautiful girl of the world.

other usage of this expression is that ( as it is in your text )

we use this expression to warn someone about the stuation we are in

for example:

John: Ahmet. i want to speak to you right now. it is very important.

        ( Ahmet. seninle hemen şimdi konuşmak istiyorum. Çok önemli. )

Ahmet: Ok John. but i dont have much time. i have only five minutes. you should be aware of that.

        ( ok John. Fakat fazla zamanım yok. Sadece 5 dakikam var. Ona göre. )

We sometimes use it at the end of the sentence (and it doesn´t make sense in English): 

Benim çok vaktim yok, ona göre = I have no much time, according to it

"ona göre" in such sentences is "incomplete clause" that the listener/reader has to decide how it should continue depending on the context..

Let´s fill the blanks..

Benim çok vaktim yok (ve sen) ona göre (davran, hareket et, düşün, kararını ver, etc.) 

I have no much time (and you should behave, act, think, make your decision) according to it

I hope it makes sense now..

We can add "ha" to "ona göre" to make it also look like a warning:

Benim çok vaktim yok, ona göre ha!
