Hello!

I saw a picture taken from Turkish version of "Who wants to be a millionaire?" where a guy was asked who a songwriter dedicated a song to. And one of the answers was Annanesine. Ok, I understand -si is "his" and -ne is "to", so only the root word annane remains... however I can´t find it in any dictionary I know. "mother" is anne, "grandmother" - "anneanne", but "annane"? Doesn´t ring a bell...

The correct spelling of that word is  "Anneanne" which  means Grandma. It is a compound noun that is formed by repeating the noun twice.

Literally " Mother´s mother " whereas "Babaanne" is "Father´s mother"

Anneanne + s + i [his/her] + n + e [to]   ----> to his/her grandmother [mother´s mother]
