It depends of what you are interested in! If you are interested in archeology, history, nature?? You can go to Ephese, Pamukkale, Capedocie, Konya, Catalhöyük... Turkiye is such a rich country! There also several festivals in summertime, such as in Bodrum or Aspergos... may be this site can help you for this sort of things www.mymerhaba.com

Mamamia is right, those places are worth seeing (I've never been there, but ohh how many days i dreamt away at their pictures , but you are 'only' 10 days in Istanbul. That's not even enough to see that city itself I guess I'd start with the mainattractions in the beautiful, magical city of Istanbul if I were you. I'd take a travel to one of the Prince's Islands that are near Istanbul. You can enjoy the sea and the seabreeze there Also I'd take a look around at the nature near Bosporus. Believe me, this will be enough to spend 10 days and come home very satisfied.
By bus going to Efes will be approximately 8 hours , and again 8 hours back. I think those kind of trips are a waste of time in this situation. You'd rather want to spend all your time in Istanbul and its surroundings. I've never been to Istanbul, but I know I could spend more than 10 days just wandering through the busy city streets.
Take a look at [click] this website [click]. It's a basic info I found on the things worth seeing in Istanbul.
My advice is not to over-exhaust yourself by travling to many many places. When one is tired, you enjoy less and pick up less of the beautiful details. Also, Turkey is such a large and diverse country that one visit won't do anyway. You'll be so in love with Istanbul that you'll planning your next holiday to Turkey soon And then if i were you I'd choose a travel-thing through Anatolia so that you can see most of the things mentioned in previous posts
ENJOY IT
