Reaching it´s highest number of athletes in both women´s and total competitors, Turkey will be chasing medals with 114 sporters in 16 categories.
The deadline for earning quota places for the Olympics has expired.
Turkey will be participating in the games with a total of 114 athletes.
This means Turkey reached it´s peak number of athletes in history so far.
114 Turkish athletes in 16 branches will be competing in the Olympic games which will be held in London from July 27 to August 12.
Athletics has the highest number of participants with 33 sporters.
Then comes the wrestling with 13 wrestlers.
The 1st timers in the games Basketball and volleyball women´s teams will be consisting of 12 players each.
9 sporters in weightlifting, 6 apiece for boxing and swimming, 5 apiece for shooting and sailing, 3 apiece for cycling and taekwondo, 2 apiece for judo and table tennis and 1 sporter apiece for badminton, archery and gymnastics will represent Turkey in London.
The rise in the number of the women in the crew is attention grabbing.
66 athletes will be there to compete in women´s category.
In 5 different branches, Turkish athletes qualified for the 1st time in history.
Turkey will make it´s Olympic debut in gymnastics, badminton, volleyball, women´s basketball and women´s 4x400 relay competitions.
