Definitely distant...

i am just wondering (not trying to belittle turkey or its language, i love turkce and i have no obejction for it to be a language of the future)

i am just wondering why is turkish going to be the language of the future?

turkish is similar to korean and japanese, i believe koreans also have a popular pop culture (thus more of the younger generation that is non native like to learn korean)...

hrmmm, i can´t think of a reason...., can someone please enlighten me?

I wonder also. Turkish may and probably will raise its areal status because compared with Europe Turkey is a young nation and because politically and economically it is the bright spot of the area. But hardly it is going to have a world wide importance like English. Apart from the local enthusiasts it is only a small group of freaks who struggle to learn its secrets.

Popular culture is important, yes, but I think that is mostly an areal phenomena also. Look at TC (it is like the world in a small size): who wants to learn Turkish because of being attracted by TV seria?  -  Arab girls.

Don´t worry, it won´t be distant. We all should encourage people to learn Turkish. And I want you to make some effort in learning Turksih , Vince,instead of speaking English all the time in the chat room.  Dont give up mate ! 

Don´t worry, we have already enough people who are just loving to belittle Turkiye. It is because of Turkey´s being emerging power in the region and in the world. There is a saying in Turkish ; "Meyve veren ağaç taşlanır " --- > The fruitful tree gets stoned. , No one would want to stone a tree with no fruits on it. 

And Turkish language is rising in the recent years, people all around the world has a huge intrest in learning Turkish. Not only in in this region but also people from  balkans, middle east, and other regions. I know, the Turkish tv series are playing big role in this interest, but  also there are other facts, may be economic growth  is one of them.. But at the end of the day , even the long history , interesting culture and friendly people makes it unique.

I am an idealist person and this is my "Kızıl Elma". Thats why I am trying my best to help people on their Turkish  for free here. Otherwise, why should I bother myself and  waste my time on this site. I want all Turks and all foreigners who know Turkish spead this beautiful language ,in where they live. As lover of "Turkiye" we all should do our best.

I think arab girls are mostly attracted to the Turkish series from the romantic perspective they miss in their daily lives not to the language itself as they don´t mind watching them dubbing.

Arabs - and i´ll include myself even if i´m NOT a drama fan - prefer to take the easy way to reach our goals, so they WON´T bother themselves learning such a hard language just because they are attracted to kivanç or Engin ... that´s far far away from the Arab People mentality. It could be satisfactory for them to know günaydın & teşekkür ederim

I´m learning Turkish for 5 months now even if i only watched 5 episodes from muhteşem yüzyıl and then decided that reading "Suleiman the magnificent" would be better.
