Two words will be better: "nasılsın" and "malesef"

I think it is good. Understandable for native Turkish people.

Sevgili  teyzeciğim. Nasılsın[ız] ? Ne zaman Bağdat´a geleceksin[iz] ? Maalesef İstanbul´da seni [sizi] görme fırsatım olmadı. Seni [sizi] çok özledim.

 Tunci, could you tell me why you said "görme" and not "görmek"?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Good question,

it is because the verb [to see] "görmek" altered into the verb-like noun [verbal-seeing]  , and it is acting as noun in possesive construction.

Maalesef İstanbul´da seni [sizi] görme fırsatım olmadı

literally ;

seni [you] +  görme [seeing] + fırsat [chance,opportunity] + ım [my]

my chance [opportunity] of seeing you

seni [you] +  görme [seeing] + fırsat [chance,opportunity] + ım [my] +olmadı

there was not my chance [opportunity] of seeing you

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

in other words ;

I did not have chance [opportunity] to see [ing] you.

Unfortunately, I did not have chance [opportunity] to see [ing] you in Istanbul [while I was in Istanbul].

Yes i remember once i read here in the forums a topic talking about using

"verb stem+me" without meaning negative but i couldn´t get it at that time. Now i get it.

Thanks Tunci
