thanks for the information. at the sauna i was given a large white towel and then a very small checked towel with tassels.
for the massage i was told to take away the towel and presumed i used the small towel to cover my lower region. is that right?

the masseur gave me a one hour massage. she worked really hard and i feel as if every muscle was squeezed and manipulated. she also made my bones crack quite a few times. i feel invigorated and enjoyed the experience.so i can recommend it to anyone who is thinking of trying a turkish massage

It all sounds a bit vigorous for me! But my husband loves massage. Last year in Sardinia he bared all (unintentionally he told me ) and we have been in saunas in Austria where it is a no no to wear anything but a smile! Mixed as well ) So enjoy your hamman........ and smile whatevre, just think they have seen it all before I am sure

i am going again tomorrow before i return to england. this is not a traditional hammam but in a hotel but probably offers the same service. I have a back problem at the moment and the sauna has qualified physios so that was the main reason i went. i have to say my back has improved very quickly and i may not have to visit my physio in uk now.

overall very enjoyable experience and i will take advantage of the sauna and turkish bath next time.

took a little while to get used to being practically naked but now i know this is normal.
