here are two common meaning of "efendim"

you use it when you dont understand something or when you want someone to repeat what s/he said

A: Gidip bir şeyler almak istiyorum. (i want to go and buy something)

B: Efendim?(sorry?)

A: Diyorum ki gidip bir şeyler alayım. (i said i want to go and buy something)

B: Tamam. (ok)

other is that "here i am" or "speak, i am listening you"

a: anne ( mother !)

b: efendim birtanem. (yes honey)
