It is the semantics of kalmak that confuses here, especially when it is combined with negation. If I said now

                        I would make you an angel and not stop prostrating

it may mean the complete opposite. Wait for corrections.

(Besides, who says angels are to be prostrated? It makes no sense.)

translation seems correct. but the turkish sentence doesnt make much sense both gramatically and semantically. you can be an idol worsipper or god worshipper or non-worsipper. i have never ever heard someone prostrating even to an angel! it is forbidden to prostrate any human or any angel in my belief system. this is absolute shirk!

This is a purely physical complaint from a frustrated lover. Do not look for an answer in purely religious terms.

My translation is,

I would not have raised you to the status an angel, and just remain in your awe forever.

The lover´s message is that, whether or not the sweetheart can attain the status of an angel, he himself would still need more than her divine presence in his life to satisfy the needs of his own life. I think he has some unsaintly desires as well !   {#emotions_dlg.alcoholics}

Ask olmasaydi böylesine yanmazdim
Senden bir melek yaratip secde edip kalmazdim
Ben ne dilenci
Ne de bir gurursuzum
Çok sevdigim için böyle asik böyle mutsuzum
I found the text in its original context. It is not a line from a religious hymn, it is from an Orhan Gencebay song.

SHIRK !

You must tell Mr. Gencebay that you have discovered shirk in his popular song !  {#emotions_dlg.lol_fast}

It seems that Turks and Finns share the same childlike concept of angels:

Not exactly my cup of coffee....My angels are more like Orhan Gencebay´s.
