As far as I know, verb yakmak means to burn.
So,yakıyor would be It´s burning.
But,it also means light. So,I´m not sure, what´s correct. You probably know better,if you know the context...

When i translate, i get the burn part to. But it can not be right. I was calling for a person. And another person answer and said "Mustafa yok, Mustafa Yakiyor"
What can that means?

All translations are burn,kindle,fire,ignite.. Are you sure that it was Yakıyor?
Maybe it was Yapıyor, that means He´s doing.

yakmak has a slang meaning too. It means to be fancy. Yakıyor means "it is fancy".

2 Slang   yakıyor/ateşli phat (pretty hot and tempting)

Just like -Iyor was creating a participle function. Could it be?

You can´t use yakıyor as an adjective. For example "yakıyor elbise" is wrong. But "elbise yakıyor" is correct. As you see it is a verb.
