Tunci, I used the mişti suffix because you used ´have´, if you had used "I didn´t see", then I would have used ´görmedim´. Belki aşırı düşünüyorum. 
Çok iyi ,Henry !. But I would go for simple past " görmedim". It also depends on the context, however If it was " I had not seen" , then it would be better to use -miştim.
