Hello,

how would you translate the following sentence or is there a similar turkish proverb?

"I´m not made of sugar"

For example, it´s starting to rain and someone tells you: A: "You´re going out in this rain?" B: "I´m not made of sugar, you know."  Or if someone wants to tell you something that might hurt you and you just reply: "I´m not made of sugar (= sensitive/touchy), just go on".

We also sometimes say "Şeker değilim, erimem" in this situation.

"I´m not made of sugar (literally I´m not sugar), I don´ melt"

but it is only said for getting wet in the rain.

If it is a female saying this its better ;  Şeker miyim ayol eriyecem.

If it is a male saying this  its better  ;  Şeker miyim de eriyecem.

Ayol should NOT be used by a male !!

Thanks for your reply So to sum it up:

1) If it´s raining and I want to say "I´m not made of sugar", I can use this sentence: "Şeker değilim, erimem"

2)  If I want to express that I´m not too touchy/sensitive and want to say  "I´m not made of sugar, you can tell me the truth", I can use: "Şeker miyim ki eriyeyim" or "Şeker miyim de eriyecem" (male) or "Şeker miyim ayol eriyecem" (female).

Or can 2) also be used for example 1) ?

ayol is not formal

you can say ;

şeker miyim ki eriyeyim, or eriyeceğim =am i sugar so that i get melted or i will get melted

şeker miyim de eriyeyim or eriyeceğim  =am i sugar so that i get melted or i will get melted

it is in question form but meaning negative sentence.
