Abayı yakmak -idiom-(unofficial)

Meaning: to fall in love with.

Example: O kadına abayı yaktım.

             I fell in love with that woman.

I think people don´t use this phrase for themselves. You may better use ıt for another person. Like ´Oğlan kıza abayı yakmış!´

That´s true, generally people use it for other people but they can use it for themselves rarely. Both are correct.

Ex: Ben abayı yaktım, arkadaş!

     I fell in love, friend!
