i am learning turkish. so far i´m pretty limited in communicating but i keep trying. i have a turkish friend, he is trying to improve his english, so we support each other. few days ago we are "chatting" and i say "i must go do the dishes". he replies to me "gecmis olsun". i ask why he says that, he says we say to someone who is sick, wish them get better. i reply yes i understand the meaning but what is connection to me going to do dishes, clean up after dinner? he laughs and says he reads english sentence i write but when he gets to dishes he thinks turkish dis...like teeth, so he thinks i say i am going to the dentist!! it is funny, we both laugh out loud. so i share with all of you so you can see that learning is good for everyone even if we make mistakes along the way.and best way to learn is with the support of others... so thanks for all support on this site. cok tesekkur ederim. i hope you smiled
