What is the best way to learn Turkish for a serious learner?

Sure books and sites and listening .....

But the most important point to be very Patient and never upset .

That is for any language ,

point well made Abla! When listening, I always pick up on the sound of the words I already recognize. I need to focus on hearing the words I don´t know and adding them to my vocabulary. Yes, some day in the future I will look back and wonder what was so difficult....at least I hope so

Another invaluable tip is to watch turkish entertainment shows where they interview celebrities. The question answer format is easy to follow and helps you pick up a few witty phrases =))
