COMMISSION OF WISE MEN

I understand a 49 men (7 men from each of the 7 geographical regions) commission will be nominated by the Turkish Government to to discuss and resolve major current issues of Turkey. In short shall very soon know the the names of 49 men that the current govenment considers the "Wisest of Turkia".

I tried to make a list of my own, but I have really failed. Those I would have considered for  my list all seems to have been murdered in the last decade and none of the murderers have yet been appended.

I know that making a 49 men list candidates is a tough job for any one of us. If you members can contribute a list of names (any number equal to or bıgger than 2 (two) and less than 10 (ten)). I shall compile the the results, and see how close we can get to the govenment´s  own list. The results should be interesting.

My top 6 candidates for the commission are, (provided they agree to participate, of course)

HALİL İNALCIK (Historian, Academic)

İLBER ORTAYLI (Historian, Academic)

KEMAL KUTAY (Writer, thinker)

AHMET ALTAN (Academician, writer, lecturer)

YAŞAR NURİ ÖZTÜRK (Religion, Philosophy. Academic)

ALEV ALATLI (Writer)

PLS GIVE IT A TRY

There goes another idiotic statement.

If you have knowledge and proof of your claims, go to the Police. This is a democratic country, no need to bulshit in the dark.{#emotions_dlg.noway}

See how Turkish police dug up murderer of Serai in a week. All they need is a clue, donated by a "trustworhy Turk" like you..

I am amazed that no other members have volunteered alternative propasals for our COMMISSION OF WISE MEN. I hope it is not because wise men are impossible to find in Turkia.

What surprised me most is that the name of Hocaefendi was not brought up, not even by his most avid followers; is he not a wise and patriotic leader, worthy of this comission ? If his wisdom is not available to public good now, what do we need him for ?

To be honest I would like to see him sitting in a discussion with Y.N. Öztürk, in a competitive commission.

There is a famous Turkish proverb ´hem suclu hem guclu´.

Ulusalci/ulkucu/racist gangs kill the intellects of this country with the permission of coup loving generals in order to create caos, then the same people shed the fake cries. !! Luckly their games have been exposed. No more killing!!

Such a narrow and paranoid view..Who gives a penny!! Turkey has passed these views long time ago. But realization of this takes times

There is a Turkish phrase ´jeton koseli´ for this type of events and people.

A jeton is a metal token used in Turkey for telephone boxes.

Like this :

They would slide into a telephone box so that you could speak. Koseli jeton means a token  with edges, ie rectengular one. You can not put a token with edges into those boxes because it wont fit.

When people dont understand the subject or slow to get it, we used to ´jeton koseli´
