The touch that hurts

Before I used to listen to love songs and sad songs

I watched all sorts of soap operas and movies and never cried

I didn’t understand people who were saddened by them

I never had to drink an old love away

It was a serious problem when one certain person left me

Would I survive or die or what?

But I’ve changed

When I met you, it made me aware of so many different aspects I never knew before

I just understood love when I met you

But I just learned pain on the day that you left me

The word “love” has value because of you, and the word “love” nearly killed me

I never thought that today I’d find a touch that hurt so much

I want to forget you, want to erase your image from my mind

I want my heart to be uninterested and not remember the memories it has

I’m so exhausted, I nearly want to stop breathing

I want to wake up and see the old me

Who was never lonely or sad after being dumped

Unconcerned with love
