Vehicles on Turkey roads 17.3 million in March 2013

The number of vehicles registered in traffic in Turkey reached to 17.3 million in March 2013 with a 45.7 percent monthly rise, the country´s statistics authority has said.

A total of 88,397 motor vehicles were registered in traffic in March 2013, and cars took the first place with 58.1 percent, followed by small trucks with 16.5 percent, motorcycles 15.5 percent, tractors 8.8 percent, trucks 4.4 percent, minibuses 2.3 percent, buses 1.4 percent and special purpose vehicles constituted 0.2 percent of the registered motor vehicles.
In March 2013, the number of motor vehicles registered in traffic increased by 7.6 percent year-on-year when compared to March 2012.
On monthly basis, cars, minibuses, buses, motorcycles and special purpose vehicles increased by 14.7 percent, 9.5 percent, 16.1 percent, 16.2 percent and 363.8 percent, respectively. The number small trucks, trucks and tractors decreased by 11.6 percent, 19.9 percent and 9.8 percent, respectively.
