Quoting Deli_kizin:

If it's for Nesrin you might consider just buying it in Turkey.. UK phones haven't got the Turkish characters in their system (usually).

I don't know about other phones but both of mine have Türkçe characters and a Türkçe dictionary for predictive text

They are both Sony Ericsson phones - a K700 and a K750i

Hi,
Thanks so much everyone for your help and advice, it is Nesrin's birthday next month and I decided to buy her a new mobile, she already knows about it as it is best to let her know when it comes to mobile phones

Hi no problem you can buy phone from Uk and use it on turkey but be clear that your phone is unlocked to all network .If it is lcoked to any Uk network provider .Then you cant use it on Turkey unless you unlock it .To unlock it visit Wickedunlock.com here they help you unlock your phone from network lock using code.Using the code you can unlock your phone then use it on other countries.
