When i first started trying to speak turkish in Turkey people would often laugh!But in a nice way and then help me.Nowadays this happens only occasionally.

But I would like to know how to say the following if it does happen

You are laughing at my turkish!

Why are you laughing at my turkish?

I would be saying these sentences as a joke and not telling someone off!!

Speaking Turkish with a British accent would be hysterical, if you didn´t bother

giggles.  Like Japanese, Turkish place much vurgu over the vowels.

Perhaps you are speaking it gürültüyle Gürültüyle! Or too quickly.

This language is meant to be spoken softly, slowly.

If you speak Turkish with a French accent, using too much guttural sounds,

that would make them laugh and turn them off.

At the moment I am working very hard on my pronunciation, especially the vowels.I know if I don´t get the pronunciation correct I will not be understood.Iam improving and as I have said there less occasions when turkish people laugh!!So yes I try to speak slowly and it does work.
