Most examples of the potential mood suffix that I have seen are used with the simple past tense or with the aorist tense. Can the potential mood suffix also be used with the present continuous tense?

Are both of these correct and what is the difference in meaning?

Biraz daha zeytin alabılır mıyım lütfen?
Biraz daha zeytin alabılıyor muyum lütfen?

In your condition the first one is correct, the second one cannot be said in a situation like this because when you make requests you always use the aorist tense.

You could make a question with the present con. in a case like this:
You're washing the dishes, and ask your mum if you're doing it well.
- Bulaşıkları güzel yıkayabiliyor muyum?

In the above question, are you using the present continuous tense because you are actually in the process of doing what you are asking about?
