Thank you for your help  I wisht to know why you add yemek and not yiyecek ?

yemek is prepared or cooked food and an apple is just food which one is more correct

I am eating an apple ( bir elma yiyorum )

also  would  günu günune not work for meaning every day/each day

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

günu günune bir elma doktoru dumak

Günde bir elma (yemek) doktoru uzak tutar.
