Merhaba,

A headline of a Turkish online article I found says 3. köprüde bir ilk!

I started translating it as "A first... on the third bridge", but I quickly realized there´s something missing... Shouldn´t there be a noun after the adjective "ilk" so that we knew what is the first thing on the bridge?

Btw, from the same article:
(...) Yavuz Sultan Selim Köprüsü´nün proje finansmanı için, 7 banka katılımı  ile 2.3 milyar ABD doları tutarlı kredi sözleşmesi imzalandı.

(my translation: A loan agreement for 2.3 billion dollars, consistent with the participation of 7 banks, was signed for financing the project of the bridge of Yavuz Sultan Selim.)

1.) In english we´d rather say "financing of the project of the bridge" whereas the Turkish expression (marked in orange) suggests it is the financing of the bridge and the word "proje" seems left-out sufixless in the middle... shouldn´t it be köprüsü´nün projesinin finansmanı?

2.) Explain to me please, in the part marked in red about the banks participation is translated correctly.. because I´m not sure how something can be consistent with participation of banks.. Does it simply mean that the agreement was signed with the banks?

[[[Yavuz Sultan Selim] Köprüsü´nün] 1 [proje 2 finansmanı]] için

If a member of a compound queue  -  like proje here -  is not marked with possessive suffix it means it is not connected with the previous word köprü. I have marked the compound structure with brackets above.

2  There is an economic term proje finansmani ‘project finance’ which is defined a method of financing where the lender accepts future revenues from a project as a guarantee on a loan”. projenin finansmanı has another meaning and it is ‘project financing’ in English.

My try for the translation of this part:

...for the project finance of Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge.

ilk becomes a noun in this example. As you said, it means ´the first thing´ by only saying ´ilk´

Ad 2) Maybe tutarlı here is just an adjective describing "kredi" and it is not related to other words? In this way we would have to translate "tutarlı kredi" - perhaps it is "fixed interest rate loan", that is loan with rate which doesn´t change over time? I guess in our beloved Polish it is "kredyt stały"...

Just a guess though - waiting impatiently for help from our Turkish experts

Tutar = amount

2.3 milyar ABD doları tutar-ı = an amount of 2.3 billion US$

This is a compound noun and -ı is 3rd sg possesive suffix which is dropped when you add -li suffix:

2.3 milyar ABD doları tutar- = with/at an amount of 2.3 billion US$

2.3 milyar ABD doları tutar-lı kredi = a credit with/at an amount of 2.3 billion US$
