Exactly what the title suggests I hope I am posting in the right thread. First of all, I´d like to say it´s definitely possible to study Turkish by yourself but I understand some people may not have the time. So whether you want to start learning from basic to intermediate to Expert or just want to brush up your Turkish for a business trip or visit to Turkey and don´t have the time to browse through phrases and books by yourself, don´t hesitate to contact me me for Turkish lessons on Skype.

I provide books, work books, handouts and other materials, free of charge and they are part of the course. The fee is 10-20 euros per lesson/class depending on how much you want to learn or how many lessons you want to take.

My Skype username is: TurkceKursu1 & you can also reach me through my website http://turkceogrenelimvekonusalim.wordpress.com/ and posts questions there. Additionally, you can e-mail me at Turkcekursu1@hotmail.com

Frequently asked questions/sıkça sorulan sorular (F.A.Q / S.S.S)

(F.A.Q)

1) What do the lessons feature?

The lessons feature pronunciation (speaking), grammar (writing and reading) and vocabulary of the Modern Turkish language. We start from basics such as alphabet and general vocabulary. The teacher also takes the students through Turkish history, traditions by way of poetry, short texts, songs, films and whatnot!

2) How long does one have to take the lessons?

Well, this depends on you and how much you want to learn. Typically, students take the lessons for a year or 9 months and reach intermediate or expert level. The student can decide if they want to learn on a weekly on monthly basis prior to the lessons.

Generally 4 lessons per month is enough but if you are wanting to learn Turkish quicker, you can opt for more classes and talk it through with the teachers. They are special discounts and packages for those who want to opt for more than 3-4 classes.

3) Do I have to buy books or material for the lessons?

Absolutely not <img src='/static/images/smileys//wink.gif'> The material, handouts, textbooks and workbooks are provided by the teacher herself so there is no need for extra payment, they are a part of the course(s).

4) Great! So how can I take the lessons?

You can take these lessons whenever you want and in the comfort of your own home! The lessons are available to everyone. All you need is Skype, a free internet software which features voice calls. Skype takes literally minutes to download. http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-computer/

Be sure to add the teacher’s username: TurkceKursu1

5) What is the fee for the lessons?

The first class is free of charge, it’s a 1 hour trial class with which you can decide if you want to continue taking lessons. The fee depends on how much lessons you take. Generally, the rate is 10-20 euros per lesson depending on the duration of the lesson.

6) What is the payment method?

You can make your payment through PayPal.com or you may transfer via bank account, You do not need an account to transfer money via PayPal. PayPal is the faster, safer way to send money, make an online payment,  or receive money.

7) When do I make the payment?

Prior to the class, or a day or two before the class. You also have the option to make your payment on a weekly or monthly basis. Let your teacher know beforehand.

8) What if I cannot make it to a class and have already booked it?

In case, you cannot make it to the class you should let the teacher know beforehand, if you miss a class though there is no need to worry as it will made up later whenever time allows.

If you you have a question and it is not included in the F.A.Qs please comment below.

Update: Group lessons.

If you cannot afford the 20 euros per hour package, you might want to opt for group lessons. The duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes, and you will share your class with 4-5 other students. The fee is typically 5-10 euros for group classes but again it depends on what level you want to learn or how many classes you are willling to take. Students who opt for group lessons also have the benefit of a classroom environment and more dialogue but if you are not willing to share your time with the other students, you can opt for the 20 euros per hour package where you alone can learn in an hour.

All other rules apply to the group lessons such as free material.

Sorry, I cannot help you there. You might want to load up on books from Karadeniz, films, or movies. I have a few books noted down that could help, will post later for sure. Much love.

Elena, the price of group studies is 5 euros as written above and the price for private lessons are 10-20 euros (depending on how much you study), I don´t know who you are referring to but I certainly don´t know any people who offer classes on Skype for this rate Sir Ali Akpinar offers classes for 20 euros (+ 20 euros for the material) and another teacher who uses his books offers classes for 21 pounds (+20 for material) and they are amazing teachers. I honestly thought these were the most affordable prices, my friend.
