Komşunun tavuğu komşuya kaz görünür.

The apples on the other side of the wall are the sweetest.

 

Sütten ağzı yanan, yoğurdu üfleyerek yer.

A burnt child dreads the fire.

 

Yerin kulağı vardır.

Walls have ears.

 

Alışmış kudurmuştan beterdir.

Once thief , always a thief.

 

Bir elin nesi var, iki elin sesi var.

Zararın neresinden dönersen kardır.

 Your English was interesting here! It´s not one I´ve heard before, although I like it!

 

We would normally say "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"

This proverb doesn´t work with the black sea region because of the sharp slopes and you may find fallen apples, for instant, in the shadow of a walnut tree which is one km away!

Hmmm actually it works.  Because it doesn´t say you find the apple near of the apple tree, it says apple falls somewhere near of the apple tree.

Some other idioms about trendy fruit "armut"

Armut piş ağzıma düş!

Pear, rippen and fall into my mouth!

(hoping to obtain something without effort) 

Armudun sapı, üzümün çöpü var

(to be very hard to please; always to find fault with everything) 

Benim elim de armut devşirmiyor ya!

My hand is not engaged either in picking pears.
