can anyone translate this poem of taşlıcalı yahya .

Tonandı ağlar ile nurdan menâra dönüp
Küşâde-hatırr idi şevk ile nehâra dönüp
Göründü halka dıraht-ı şukufezâra dönüp
Yürüdü kulları ardınca lalezâra dönüp
Tururdu hiddet ile şah-ı cihan nâra dönüp
Otağı haymelei karlı kühsâra dönüp
Müzeyyen idi bedenlerde Akhisâr’a dönüp
El öpmeye yürüdü mihr-i bi-karâra dönüp
Tutuldu gelmedi çünkim o mâh-pâre dönüp
Görenler ağladılar ebr-i nevbahâra dönüp

Bir ejderha-yı dü-serdir bu hayme-i dünyâ
Dehânına düşen olur hemişe nâ-peydâ

Getirdi arkasını yine Zâl-i devr-i zamân
Vücûduna sitem-i Rüstem ile erdi ziyân
Döküldü gözyaşı yıldızları çoğaldı figân
Dem-i memâtı kıyamet gününde oldu nişân
Giriv ü nâle vü zâr ile toldu kevn ü mekân
Akarsu gibi müdâm ağlamakta pir ü cüvân
Vücûd iline akın saldı akdı eşk-i revân
Eyâ serir-i saadette padişah-i cihân
O cân-ı âdemiyân oldu hâk ile yeksân
Diri kala ne revâdır fesâd eden şeytân

Nesim-i subh gibi yerde koma âhımızı
Hakaret eylediler nesl-i padişâhımızı

This is a very difficult poem to translate. This poem is written in Otoman language. There are many old words and some very weird expressions dont make sense in English an even in Turkish. There are ambiguities in some sentences. So I made some guesses. I hope my translation makes sense.

Meded meded bu cihanın yıkıldı bir yanı

Help, help one side of this world has been demolished.

    Ecel celâlîleri aldı Mustafa Hânı,

Celalis of death took Khan Mustafa.

    Tolundu mihr-i cemâli bozuldu divânı

The sun of his beauty set, his council dissolved.

Vebâle koydular âl ile Âl-i Osmânı

With deceit they made the family of Ottoman carry this horrible consequence

Geçerler idi geçende ol merd-i meydânı

They were backbiting him when that bravest man was mentioned.

Felek o canibe döndürdü şah-ı devrânı

Fate turned the Shah of the world to their side.

    Yalancının kuru bühtânı buğz-i pinhânı

The slander of the liar and his hidden grudge

    Akıtdı yaşımızı yakdı nâr-ı hicrânı

Made us shed tears and it lighted the fire of seperation.

Cinayet etmedi cani gibi anın cânı

He didnt murder anyone like a blood-thirsty man

    Boğuldu seyl-i belaya tağıldı erkânı

He got drowned in the flood of calamity, his men disbanded.

N’olaydı görmeye idi bu macerâyı gözüm

I wish my eyes had not seen this event.

Yazıklar ana revâ görmedi bu râyı gözüm

Woes. This judgement was not fit for him.

Tonandı ağlar ile nurdan menâra dönüp

He got decorated with whites like a minaret made of light.

Küşâde-hatırr idi şevk ile nehâra dönüp

He was open-hearted like the morning.

    Göründü halka dıraht-ı şukufezâra dönüp

He appeared to the people like a tree in a flower garden.

    Yürüdü kulları ardınca lalezâra dönüp

He walked among his people like a tulip garden.

Tururdu hiddet ile şah-ı cihan nâra dönüp

Shah of the world was standing with anger like fire

    Otağı haymelei karlı kühsâra dönüp

His tents were like snowy mountain tops.

    Müzeyyen idi bedenlerle Akhisâr’a dönüp

They were decorated with bodies like Akhisar

El öpmeye yürüdü mihr-i bi-karâra dönüp

He walked towards the unstable sun to kiss his hands.

Tutuldu gelmedi çünkim o mâh-pâre dönüp

He didnt come back because he turned into an eclipsed moon

    Görenler ağladılar ebr-i nevbahâra dönüp

People who had seen this cried like spring clouds.

    Bir ejderha-yı dü-serdir bu hayme-i dünyâ

This tent of world is like a two headed dragon.

    Dehânına düşen olur hemişe nâ-peydâ

One who falls into its mouth disappears.

Getirdi arkasını yine Zâl-i devr-i zamân

That dragon beated the Zal of the time  again.

Vücûduna sitem-i Rüstem ile erdi ziyân

The harm came to his body from the cruelty of Rüstem.

    Döküldü gözyaşı yıldızları çoğaldı figân

The stars of tears were shed, lamentations increased.

Dem-i memâtı kıyamet gününde oldu nişân

The moment of his death has become a sign in the judgement day.

Giriv ü nâle vü zâr ile toldu kevn ü mekân

Everywhere has been filled with cries, sighs and tears

Akarsu gibi müdâm ağlamakta pir ü cüvân

Old and young everyone cries without stopping

Vücûd iline akın saldı akdı eşk-i revân

The tears flooded and flew to the land of body

    Eyâ serir-i saadette padişah-i cihân

I wonder if the padishah of the world is on the bed of happiness.

O cân-ı âdemiyân oldu hâk ile yeksân

He, the soul of men became earth

Diri kala ne revâdır fesâd eden şeytân

Is it fair that the evil doer Satan is alive?

Nesim-i subh gibi yerde koma âhımızı

Dont put our sighs on the ground like the morning wind

    Hakaret eylediler nesl-i padişâhımızı

They insulted the line of our padishah.

    …

    Taşıcalı Yahya Bey

Thank you for this. It helped me understand some lines. But there are some big differences between two poems. I wonder why is that?

I found a poem of same poet that was written after the death of Rustem Pasha. It is very interesting. I will translate the third part of the poem:

Al-i Osmanı kıran itdi ol imanı yaman

That infidel destroyed the family of Ottoman

Biri birisine girdi nitekim ab-ı revan

One fought against other like a river.

Ehl-i imandan akan kan ile toldı Karaman

Karaman was filled with the blood of the faithful people.

Bir dem içinde dem-i ademe gark oldı cihan

In a moment world sank into human blood.

Rüşvet altununı cem itmek idi işi heman

His job was always to gather bribe money.

Derdmend eyler idi encüm-i nahs ile kıran

Kanı ol mala tapan mezheb-i Karuna uyan

Where is now that worshipper of fortune and follower of Korah?

Enbiya sevmedügini seven aşub-ı zaman

Where is now that instigator who likes what prohophets dont like?

Haber-i mevti melul itdi beni hayli zaman

The news of his death made me sad for a long while

Korkar idüm bu şadi haberi ola yalan

Because I was afraid of that this happy news was a lie.

Yıkılup gitdi ol evkaf-ı selatini yıkan

The  one who demolished the foundations of sultans got demolished.

Mal-ı eytamı alup mescidi meyhane yapan

The one who used to take the possessions of orphans and turn mescids into taverns.

Her denlü yaramazlık var ise anda idi

He had all the bad manners that exists.

İki ayağı çukurda bir eli kanda idi

His two feet were in a pit and one of his hand was in blood.
