i understand almost whole sentence very good, only don´t understand why he put mış to yıl (yılmış) why not just yıl?

There is no difference between them. The meaning of it "The day passes like a year"

bir yıl gibi (like a year)

bir yılmış gibi (as if it is a year)

Bir gün bir yıl gibi geçer (One day elapses like a/one year.)

Bir gün bir yılmış gibi geçer. (One day elapses as though it is one year.)
