I´ve been working through Turkish and learnt the basics but now I´m teaching myself about ´shopping´ and you know when you´re clothes shopping with a friend and you ask them, does this suit me? well what is that in Turkish please? I have tried my best to translate from english to turkish and would be grateful if someone would be able to help me.

Does this suit me?

bu bana uygun mu?

Şimdiden teşekkürler

Uymak means to fit.

yakışmak is the verb you are asking about.

ex:

bu elbiese bana yakıştı mı?

Or

bu elbise bana yakışıyor mu?

Thanks for your reply. So both sentences can be used and people would understand that I am saying, ´does this suit me?´ thanks very much for your time, much appreciated
