I was trying to understand these lyrics:

Göre göre hata da yaptım, pişmanlığım çok,

Bile bile aldattım da, aldandığım çok.(x2)

I found this translation:

According made by mistake, regret very,
I did not even know you cheated, I deceived too.

In the translation I found, not sure how good it is, it mentions "cheated" and "decieved" for the same verb. In English, pertaining to relationships, this could be a big difference. Which would be correct, "cheated" or "decieved" - or could be either?

I didn´t understand "aldandığım" what tense is that?

For Göre göre and Bile bile, is that repeating for the song - or does the meaning of the word change by using it twice - I´m also not sure what that means?

Here is the video if anyone is interested:

This structure is formed with verb stems in repetitive form + dative, [bile bile, göre göre, güle güle, seve seve....]

Verb stem+ e [a]  + repeating verb stem + e [a]

Güle güle git. -à Go smiling. [Go happly]

Seve seve yaparım. -à I’ll do it willingly.

Bile bile sınıfta kaldın. -à You failed in the class knowingly. [intentionally, on purpose]

Göre göre hata da yaptım, pişmanlığım çok,

Bile bile aldattım da, aldandığım çok.(x2)

Göre göre hata da yaptım --à I made mistake[s] knowingly [ In other words the mistake was obvious but I still made it ]

pişmanlığım çok--à I have many regrets [because of that]

Bile bile aldattım da -à I deceived [ or cheated] willingly

aldandığım çok -à[ but also] there were many times that I was mistaken.

  • Note that, in the second part “aldanmak” is  bit different verb. It means “to be mistaken”, “to be wrong”.
  • It can also be interpreted as “to be deceived by lies, games ,tricks..”

There were also times I did mistakes knowingly, I have many regrets [because of that],

I also deceived willingly [but] I was deceived [mistaken] a lot [too]
