I think Onun and Senin here are possessive. But I don´t know why? Would it still be grammatically correct to use O and Sen here? Would it change the meaning?

I think Onun and Senin here are possessive. But I don´t know why? Would it still be grammatically correct to use O and Sen here? Would it change the meaning?

Yes, they are possessive. They are like object of the sentence.

You can not use "O" and "Sen" in those sentences, since they are not subject of the sentences. The subject is embedded which is "Ben" ---> eminim

biliyorum.

Literal translations would be something like :

Onun masum olduğuna/olduğundan eminim.

I am sure of his/her being innocent.

Senin kötü bir şey yapmadığını biliyorum.

I know your did not do anything bad.

Hi everyone,

Concerning the sentence 3), I wanted to know if we could also say :

-Size meseleye dair her şeyi anlatacağım.

-Size mesele hakkında her şeyi anlatacağım.

Concerning the sentence 4), I wanted to know if we could also say :

-Odanın öbür/öteki/diğer ucuna/sonuna koşup pencereyi açtım...

Hey Mat!

Yes, both sentences are quite idiomatic.

Öbür/öteki/diğer are all possible for "ucuna", yet I´m not sure if we ever say "odanın öbür/öteki/diğer sonuna" or even "odanın sonuna"; it sounds a bit weird to me. Maybe it´s possible and used, but even so I can safely say that "ucuna" is used much more frequently. I think it´s better if you have a second opinion about this.
