I suppose this has been asked before, but I´d like an opinion or two.
What would be the best course for a beginner like me? My goal is to cover as much as possible in that first course, and gain a functioning knowledge of the language. While studying alone of course!
Any suggestions or ideas?
Thank you!

I am asking again hoping for a suggestion.
So far I have been studying from various sources mainly about the vowels, but this is no way to make progress, at least not for me.
Thank you!

Merhaba Arkadas! Although I too am learning the Turkish language, but got a break due to some reasons... But I can tell you what I found useful... First of all, 1. watch turkish movies with english subtitles and write down the turkish and english equivalent. 2. Disect any sentence you see in turkish, e.g. anlamadim = anla´ma´dim etc to get the proper sentence structure .. 3. read Teach Yourself Turkish 1996 Book ... It is best among the 20 or so books I tried. it will build your sentences and a working knowledge of language all the way to Intermediate level, as I also have just covered 3 chapters so far.

Merhaba! I would suggest the website Turkish Tea Time. It costs a small amount -- $10 a month -- but I found it well worth it. It offers lessons ranging from "newbie" to "advanced," and you can take them in order or skip around. It offers an intensive grammar lesson, pronunciation audios and a review test with each lesson. The atmosphere is very friendly and casual, and the teachers answer questions in a discussion area. You´ll also learn about Turkish society, customs and slang. All very useful! ... The lessons also come in the form of podcasts, but I just used the website. ... Hope this helps.
