Dear all,

currently I am learning all about the -dik suffix and its expressions such as -diği için, -diği taktirde and the likes.

One of them, my book explains, is -mesi halinde. However, my book doesn´t tell whether it comes after -dik or that it´s unrelated.

In other words, my question is:

Do you say ´özür dilemesi halinde´ or ´özür diledikmesi halinde´?

Thank you!

[BTW, the sentence in my book reads "Adam hızlı hızlı yürürken bize çarptı ve özür dileyeceği yerde ´Neden yoldan çekilmiyorsunuz´ diye kızdı" so I´m not sure if I can use ´-mesi halinde´ in this case.]

The correct one is  “özür dilemesi halinde”

You can NOT say özür dilekmesi.

[BTW, the sentence in my book reads "Adam hızlı hızlı yürürken bize çarptı ve özür dileyeceği yerde ´Neden yoldan çekilmiyorsunuz´ diye kızdı" so I´m not sure if I can use ´-mesi halinde´ in this case.]

özür dileyeceği yerde  ´Neden yoldan çekilmiyorsunuz´ diye kızdı. --à  instead of  apologize, he got angry and said  “ Why aren’t you getting off the road “

If we replace –eceği yerde with – mesi halinde  the sentence will not make any sense since – mesi halinde  means --à In [the] case of
