Not in Turkey, but I have in France! I was shopping in a rural area when they thought I had a forged franc note. That tested my French and when I had to go to the Police station that again tested my French..................but I coped they understood me and I understood them! Job done!

Quoting susie k: But as soon as a group of people get together I find it very difficult!
Sometimes I become so nervous absolutely nothing comes out of my mouth! I just end up smiling a lot!!!! |
I suffer that problem in my native English!!!

hi susie
yes i get the same problem to, im so caught up in trying to say the right thing that the wrong thing comes out! you just have to laugh and learn from mistakes. After all how are you so confident to say 'merhaba' as it must come first nature now, so i think in time so will the rest of your words..

Believe me, I even have troubles talkign Turkish to Kadir on the phone!! I don't wanna make any mistakes, though I know he appreciates each attempt, no matter how many mistakes. But just like the otehr learners: you wanna do it well!
