Is this translation to English OK?

T: sen rahibemisin nesin ki bu kadar dini yazılar yazıyorsun başka bir işin yok herhalde

E: Are you a nun or something that you write so many Religious articles, you probably don´t have any other work (i.e. to do).

It´s not only okay but quite good! I´m just not sure if "that" there is necessary or not. "Ki" in the original sentence has a kind of a causal meaning I think. Here´s a few more examples that contain -ki with the same nature:

Kocam mısın ki beni böyle sorguya çekiyorsun? (Why do you interrogate me like that? Are you my husband?

Ödevini yaptın mı ki dışarı çıkmak istiyorsun? (You haven´t done your homework, why do you want to go out?)

O adam mı ki onun lafını dinledin? (Why did you heed his words? He´s not a decent person.)

Hope it was helpful,

-Jansay

J, how come you translate "ödevini yaptin" with "you haven´t done your homework?". I can´t find the negative?

I haven´t translated it literally. In that context, "Ödevini yaptın mı ki?" is a rhetorical question, implying that they haven´t done their homework.

I hope it´s more clear now.
