Merhabalar! I have a new favorite Fikret Kızılok song: "Yeter Ki." I have tried to translate it, but I am puzzled about the phrase "yeter ki" itself. I have translated it as "it is enough that," but Google Translate is making me think it might mean "as long as." Either way, I´m not sure how it connects with what comes after it in the song, which looks more like a command to me than a declaration. Perhaps it should be translated as "Enough. Love me. Enough. Believe me."??? ... I´ve included a link below so you can listen. It is a beautiful song. ... As always, I appreciate your help with my Turkish.
Işte çevirim:
Ellerim, gözlerim kelepçelerde -- My hands, my eyes are in manacles, Sevda çöllerinde -- In the wastelands of love, Geçiyor aylarım, yıllarım, gecelerim -- My months, my years, my nights are passing, Sevda zindanlarında -- In the prisons of love.
Yeter ki sen sev beni -- It is enough that you love me. Yeter ki inan bana -- It is enough that you believe me.
Varlığın dilimde bir yudum su -- Riches in a slice of bread, a sip of water, Sevda çöllerinde -- In the wastelands of love. Hayalin, serabın yeterdi bana -- Your vision, your mirage was enough for me, Sevda zindanlarında -- In the prisons of love.
Yeter ki sen sev beni -- It is enough that you love me. Yeter ki inan bana -- It is enough that you believe me.
