Yumma Gözün Kör Gibi -- Fikret Kızılok

Merhabalar! I am back with another Fikret Kızılok song, but I´m pretty sure I´m in way over my head this time. I suspect this song is filled with idioms, because just when I think I´ve found the definitive meaning for a phrase, I look in the dictionary and find another possibility. You´re going to have to help me here! 
The Veysel mentioned in this song is the famous poet and minstrel Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu, I think. Am I right? I know that Fikret got to know Veysel not too many years before the latter died in 1973. From what I have read, Veysel inspired Fikret to leave behind experimental, electronic sounds and go down a more traditional path.
This song seems to say that Veysel understood that life is about joy (although I think many of his songs were rather sad, weren´t they?). Veysel´s last name means "son of good spirits," or something of the kind, doesn´t it? And then there is the title of the song: "Don´t Shut Your Eyes as If Your Blind." (Is that right?) It´s interesting that Veysel was in fact blind for most of his life.

Teşekkür ederim, gokuyum. I am embarrased that I missed "güzellikle boy vermiş." Sometimes I am looking so hard for an idiomatic meaning that I miss the obvious one. I guess it´s easy to tell I´m not Turkish. 
It is not easy to translate. It is not always understandable who is doing what.
Does this mean that even for a native Turkish speaker that it´s hard to understand who is doing what? Turkish is interesting because, it seems to me, there is lots of ambiguity all over the place. For instance, the whole "-leri" issue. But then this song is really poetry, isn´t it? That adds even more to the ambiguity.
