I had always been under the impression that there was a slight difference in meaning between "çalışmak" and "denemek." I thought of "çalışmak" as meaning "to try to do something," "to strive to do something." And I thought of "denemek" as meaning "to test" or "to try something out." But am I mistaken? Can "denemek" be used in the same way as "çalışmak"? ... Teşekkürler!

I my opinion there is a big difference between them.

Çalışmak = to work, to practise, like to practise your Turkish

Denemek = to try, as in to try to do something, to give something a try, also to try to speak Turkish
