üzgünüm ve üzüldumü

is there a difference between these two words?

also the verbs begenmek and sevmek.I understand sevmek= to love and begenmek=to like. is that correct?

Yes that´s correct. For example on Turkish facebook you will see ´beğen´ for ´like´.

I was just about to answer that

Both mean the same, üzgünüm is more used (and üzüldüm is without the ü on the end), but if you want to say sorry I think "özür dilerim" is even better and more common.

i have one more question... the verb hoslanmak...this means to enjoy and to like. Is it different to the other two verbs?

üzgün-üm -> it describes a state

üzül-dü-m -> it describes an action. üzül-mek is the verb here

Hoşlanmak means to enjoy, to like. It´s also used in a ´really liking people´ situation:

Ondan çok hoşlanıyorum - I really like him.

Bu kızdan hoşlanıyor - He likes that girl.

Be sure to use ablativa (den/dan) with that.
