Merhabalar! I have just discovered that Mabel Matiz has a new album! Yes, I know, I am behind. Lots of lovely songs on this album, but I´ll start with this one: "Vals." The irresistible melody is by Evgeny Grinko -- I know that he is Russian but not much more; perhaps someone can fill me in. And the words, dreamlike and sad like the music, are by Matiz. I hope I am doing them justice here. If I am not, I know you will help me. Teşekkürler!
daldığı derinden çıktı çöl rüyam -- My desert dream emerged from the depths in which it had plunged. kalbimin serabı -- My heart´s mirage. bir kader gibi çöktüğü zaman -- Time in which it collapsed like a destiny. bak deliklerimden, sır ağır değil -- Look through my openings, the secret is not serious. çınlayan bir çocukluğun korkularıyla -- With a childhood´s fears reverberating. bak, bitti son duam -- Look, my last prayer is finished.
tek başına bir vals -- A waltz apart. bu her daim çalmaz -- It does not always play.
kaldı gözlerimde bir avuç hayal -- A handful of dreams remained before my eyes. gelmiyor sabahım, geçmiyor zaman -- My morning does not come, time is not passing. kaldı gözlerimde bir avuç hayal -- A handful of dreams remained before my eyes. gelmiyor sabahım, geçmiyor yaram -- My morning does not come, my wound is not healing.
