Bu durumda kitaptaki paragraf "bana mektup yazmış olsaydın, ben de cevaplardim"  olur. 

In that way  translate would be "bana mektup yazmış olsaydın, ben de cevaplardim" 

I think, there are many mistyped sentences, thats why some of them meaningless and no body want to translate it. (My opinion) 

Thanks Harpoon, I wondered about the second part, as it was also conditional and the sentence structure didn´t seem normal to me.
