Can anyone please suggest any ways that I might improve my Türkçe oral comprehension??? I am at a point of being able to read simple sentences in Türkçe and being able to put together simple sentences that express what I want to say - they might not be quite right but they are generally understandable........

But my biggest fear is that I arrive in Turkia and speak some Turkish only to find that I cannot understand anything that is said to me

I listen to Turkish Radio quite a bit but cannot understand any of it

Near to my house in Manchester we have lots of kebab shops......between them they are open 24 hours a day!!! But they are mostly run by Pakistani's which doesn't help with leaning Türkçe

Near our country house we have a couple of Türk lokantayı so perhaps I need to go for a meal there on a quiet evening :-S

My experience suggests that Turkish boys don't like to be grabbed by other boys

Actually I do have this "thought" to talk to that nice Turkish uncle who works at the Kebab store.

I have been patronising this store for the past few years but never spoke to them. just smiled.

Think it is time I step forward and start some conversation. Nothing beats speaking to real turkish and learn from there
