"Türklerce" -- what does this mean? I can´t find it in any dictionary, but I think it might mean "by Turks." I came across it in this sentence: "60 yıl önce Türklerce, Mehmet, laik bir lider olarak görülüyordu." Which I think means: "Sixty years ago, Mehmet was seen by Turks as a secular leader." I think of the "ce" ending as usually signaling an adverb, but is that what is happening here? ... Teşekkürler.

Türklerce = by Turks, and this suffix is often used with passive verbs.
