I´ve run across a phrase I can´t translate.  In a long article about fiqh, the phrase appears as "Harem´in ağaç kabuklarindan."  (1) This article was probably written by a speaker of Arabic and contains a few inaccuracies; (2) I can´t find mention of a Harem(´s) tree in Turkish or English; (3) if Harem is capitalized wouldn´t it refer to the imperial Harem at Topkapı?; (4) I know what a haremin ağası is, is this possibly what is meant?; (5)  Did the writer mean Haram(in) ağaç?  Would this refer to the tree Hudaibiya or possibly to the Prophets´ Tree?  I´m so confused!  Çok teşekkürler her cevap için.

What is the rest of the original sentence?

Does it refer to something made from the tree´s bark?

Thanks for your kind reply.  The full sentence is a quotation from (a Turkish translation of) a work of Imam Tabari.  It´s quite a long sentence, and I think I can make out most of it....but I can´t figure out where harems or trees or bark or wounds fit into it:

"Zira müşriklere karşı haram aylarda savaşmanın caiz olduğu, keza müşriklerden Müslümanlarla sözleşme, zimmet ve eman anlaşması olmayanlarm boyunlarına veya kollarına Harem´in ağaç kabuklarindan gerdanliklar veya bilezikler taksalar dahi bunun onlarla savaşılması gereken bir eman olmadığı hususunda alimler icma etmişlerdir."

"Harem" in the text, most probably refers to Kaaba. Kaaba also called as Harem-i Şerif..
