Why does the verb "gidilir"  has been used?

Why is it third person singular?

It´s like which road ´goes´ to Izmir. So that´s why it´s 3rd person. The ´il´ doesn´t translate well to English, in this case. Would be sort of like ´gets taken´. It´s called passive voice:
