hello ... a quick question about the word "istiyen".  I assume it is a conjugate form of "istimek", but what is the verb tense?  Can anyone provide other common examples of this verb tense?

Teşekkürler!

John

Merhaba John!

"İsteyen" is not actually a conjugate. It is an adjective made from the verb "istemek"

You can check the meaning of istemek is any dictionary and the meaning will give you the idea of the usage of "isteyen" (istemek: want, ask, wish, require, request, demand, etc.). It is a common word and used in different conditions.

For example:

Evlenmek isteyen bekar: The single who wants to marry.

Yemek isteyen kedi: The cat that demands food.

There could be many more examples, but I assume you got the point. If not, please say so.
