I wondered how to translate "I thought I would". But in present tense and not as a wish. It might be more of an expression in English.

For example your co-worker notices you didn´t drive today. "Well I thought I would take the bus today".

You phone someone you haven´t spoken to in a while. "Hey I just thought I´d give you a call"

´´Well I thought I would take the bus today". -  Bugün de  otobüse bineyim dedim

"Hey I just thought I´d give you a call"   -- Seni  bi arayım dedim.

You can  use -- Verb stem  + eyim/ayım + dedim

Imagine you went to see one friend whom you havent seen for a long time , you may be saying ´´ I thought I would come to see you ´´

´´ Seni gelip bir göreyim dedim ´´
