when i was at the xxxxx today it got me thinking about a lot of things it really opened my eyes about life and how short it is. i also felt like a hypocrite because its not what i belive in, what the xxxx was saying.
also it got me thinking about what some people are doing to me, they know i have a good heart and that i would do anything for anybody to help them because thats who i am, but i know now some are taking advatage of that, you know everybody comes to me with there problems i help them as best as i can to solve them for them, if they just want to talk i listen to them. if they want something from me and i have it then i give it to them. thats who i am.

You don't need to censor words like church or priest.

Quoting erdinc:

You don't need to censor words like church or priest.

I think what lots of people fear is that if they mention anything other than Islam (since Turkey being a muslim country) people will get ticked off.

However, what they don't realize is that Turkey is by far the most open-minded and secular country out there when it comes to religion. (although the vice president's making me doubtful of late)If you'd like more proof of this, please look up the history and current modern use of the magnicifent structure named St. Sophia.

In short, it was originally built by the christians as a "mobile" church. They feared the muslims, so whenever they felt threatened, they wheeled off with their church behind them (haha, it must have looked hysterical ^_^) but today it serves as both a mosque and a church at the same time. On fridays muslims can go for prayer in there, and on sunday, christians

And yes, Turkey 'does' have christians and even jews, it's just that they're such a small percentage that people usually don't mention them. I'd say 99% of Turkey is muslim.

Although I must say I love the way Turkish people have taken Islam. They have not gone back 500 yrs into the past with it, but have kept it "modern" and up to the European standards You'll see with the "majority" of Turks that their attitude towards religion's like "whatever floats your boat" (although as with any place on earth, there are those fanatics who'll make life hell for some uneducated people)

anna06,
You could clear the blank space by pressing modify and removing the space.

Hi Erem,
I think the reason might be me our forum rules that ban any religious discussion.

(*) papazın =priest's
If you want to change it, it could be replaced with imamın=imam's . Please feel free to mention those names. I'm sorry about the confusion on this and about the mess it caused in this translation. Please be sure that I have tried my best on translating your text.

------------------
